The road trip bug

There's nothing like going up or down the coast with a few core mates, who like you froth for good waves. It's even better when you walk along the path or track through the bush and see between the trees that the waves are firing.

The bug is so amped, it causes the adrenalin to pulse, and you pick up the pace—I've known a few who actually run. The time it takes to put on your wetty and wax up seems like seconds, the funny things is it's like a competition to see who can get out there the quickest and catch the first bomb.

If you're really lucky there won't be too many people out and you'll get more waves in a 2 hour surf than you would in a week at your local. And that's just the first day, by the end of the second or third you're drawing some nice lines and your flow is effortless.

Road trips and scoring waves has to be one of the best feelings you get in surfing not to mention creating memories that you'll share and relive over a lifetime.
